CWG: Malaysia In 4x200m Men's Freestyle Final

NEW DELHI, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- Malaysia qualified for the final of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay of the Commonwealth Games (CWG) after finishing fifth overall in the heats at the Dr. S. P. Mukherjee aquatics complex here Wednesday.

In their heat held at 11am (Malaysian time), the Malaysian quartet of Foo Jian Beng, Kevin Yeap Soon Choy, Joshua Lee Leam Yoong and Daniel William Henry Bego clocked 7:37.29s overall to make the cut.

Their time was 21.45s behind Australia's quartet of Nicholas David Frost, Ryan Francis Kevin, Leith Brodie and Kenrick John Monk, who finished tops.

The final is scheduled to be held at 8.40pm (Malaysian time).

Meanwhile, Christina Loh Yen Ling failed to enter the women's 200m breaststroke final after finishing 13th in her heat with a time of 2:41.77s while Ian James Barr Kumarakulasinghe also faced the same fate, finishing 13th in 2:08.84s in his heat in the men's 200m backstroke.

Foo Jian Beng also failed to make the cut in men's 100m freestyle when he finished in 20th position in his heat.
