KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- National women's diving pair, Leong Mun Yee and Cheong Jun Hoong put up a splendid performance to claim the silver medal at the 19th Fina Diving World Cup held at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China.

Mun Yee, who replaced Pandela Rinong who sustained a knee injury, took the medal with Cheong after they amassed 336.66 points in the women's 10m synchronised platform event on the third day of the tournament, Thursday.

"Cheong's previous partner was injured just before the World Cup. So I replaced her to pair with Cheong. We did not expect to win the silver at all and we just did as best as we could," said the 29-year-old Mun Yee as quoted in the Fina website;www.fina.org.

Olympic and world champion, Chen Ruolin of China who partnered with Liu Huixia claimed the gold with 357.66 points while Canadian pair, Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion had to settle for the bronze medal with 335.25 points.
