Fauzan Set For Glasgow Despite Suffering Minor Injury Due To Road Accident - Coach

KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Bernama) -- National rider Mohd Fauzan Ahmad Lutfi was injured in a road accident while returning from a breaking of fast in Melaka last night.

The cyclist who should have left for Glasgow, Scotland this morning with coach Aminuddin Sulaiman to compete at the Commonwealth Games had to postpone his journey to recuperate.

Aminuddin when contacted confirmed that Fauzan and his wife met with a road accident on the way back to Kuala Lumpur.

"Fauzan is fine as he suffered minor hand injuries while his wife was warded for a while last night.

"We are giving Fauzan time to rest and we will ask the National Sports Council (MSN) to amend his ticket to enable him leave later.

"After all, the matter could not be settled by the departure time at 4 am," he told Bernama here today.

According to him, the incident at Pedas-Linggi area occurred when Fauzan failed to avoid an overturned lorry.
