Trap shooter Benjamin flops in Beijing

PETALING JAYA: Commonwealth Games-bound shooter Benjamin Khor failed to qualify for the final of the men’s double trap event in the third leg of the ISSF World Cup in Beijing.

The 21-year-old, who will compete at the Games in Glasgow from July 23-Aug 3, could only manage a 128 total (23-27-26-27-25) to finish 16th out of 28 shooters on Sunday.

It was was off his national record of 136 which he set in the second leg of the World Cup in Munich, Germany, last month.

In the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol, Malaysia’s two representatives – Khalel Abdullah and Hasli Izwan Amir Hasan – also did not fare well.

Khalel accumulated 570 points to finish 20th out of 29 shooters. As for Hasli, he registered 567 points to be placed 23rd.
